Grants
- Supporting faculty (2023). PAL workshop for GEP instructors. A $1,000 grant was awarded to the team lead by Dr. Archana Dubey by the College of Undergraduate Studies.
- Supporting faculty (2023). Enhancing students' success through personalized adaptive learning in algebra-based introductory physics courses. A $9,000 grant was awarded to the team led by Dr. Archana Dubey by the College of Sciences, University of Central Florida.
- Group grant: Program Director and Co-Lead (2019-2021). The Personalized Learning Consortium of the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities provides support to UCF for the Adaptive Courseware for Early Success (ACES) initiative. The initiative centers around the use of adaptive courseware to improve student success outcomes to eliminate the equity gap for low-income students, students of color, and first-generation students
- Group grant: Team Lead (2018). Digital Learning Innovation Award. A $100,000 grant funded by OLC for the project of “Using Innovative Adaptive Courseware to Enable Student Success in Gateway Mathematics Courses”
- Fall 2018 Quality Enhancement Plan Faculty and Staff Cohort: Enhancing Integrative Learning at UCF: Creating Resources and Sharing Expertise. $500 was awarded to Baiyun Chen for the project of Renewable Assignments
- A Quality Enhancement Plan grant in the amount of $10,000 was awarded to Baiyun Chen, Ronald DeMara and Richard Hartshorne for the project of “Incorporating Career-Readiness Learning in Foundational STEM Curricula via Integrative Assessments” in 2017
- A Quality Enhancement Plan grant in the amount of $3,500 was awarded to Murat Kizildag, Nan Hua, Ahmet Bulent Ozturk, Baiyun Chen & Beth Nettles for the project of “Innovation of Online Training Program with the Implementation of High-impact Integrative Learning Structure for the Hospitality Faculty” in 2017
- Research grant (2015-2016) in the amount of $12,948.12 was awarded by the National Research Center for Distance Education and Technological Advancements (DETA) (subgrant of the U.S. Department of Education's Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) grant) on a survey study to examine the influence of online design components on students’ perceptions of learning
- International Affairs & Global Strategies grant in the amount of $5,000 was awarded by UCF for the project of "Open Faculty and Student Minds and Hearts in China."
- Two Information Fluency grants (2011-2013 & 2013-2015) in the amount of $3,000 were awarded to the CDL Mobile Team for the project of “Center for Distributed Learning mobile initiative” on March 15, 2011 and January 15, 2013
- Two Information Fluency grants (2013-2014 & 2014-2015) in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to Lei Wei and Baiyun Chen for the project of "Matlab Generated Video Illustrations for Engineering Teaching" on January 15, 2013 and January 23, 2014
- College of Health and Public Affairs awarded a research grant in the amount of $2,000 to Thomas Bryer and Baiyun Chen for the project of “Social networking in teaching Public Administration” in 2010
